Does anyone else find popular science books boring?

Ok, I love science.

I find reading academic books on science very enjoyable and fun.

However, I don't get that feeling when I'm reading popular science books.

Books like A Brief History of Time, Physics of the Impossible...etc.

I find them very boring.

It feels as if things are too oversimplified. I sometimes I get lost and read paragraphs more than once.

Am I the only one?Does anyone else find popular science books boring?
Try

"Sympathetic Vibrations" KC Cole

"The Periodic Table" Primo Levi

"E = MC^2" David Bodanis

"Bridges to Infinity" Michael Guillen

"Wind, Sand and Stars" St. Eupery

"Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman?" Richard Feynman

If these don't excite and involve you and bring out the human side of the stuff we are studying, then you just have to accept that you are indeed part of the tiny culture of super-nerds who the rest of us rely on for strictly logical analysis.Does anyone else find popular science books boring?
