That doesn't make sense. Natural law works whether it is a science or philosophy or religion. When science goofs, there are consequences. The economy is an example, the environment is another. Why is science so popular and effective, without having eternal rewards or hellish consequences?
Because it works.
Actually - science can lead to both of those...Why is science so popular and effective, without having eternal rewards or hellish consequences?
It ain't over. Watch. Why is science so popular and effective, without having eternal rewards or hellish consequences?
Because of proof. If you can proove something, people will trust you on that topic.
Science is the explanation of how God did it. It's popular and effective because those who believe in science only don't realize that .... when they figure it out, it won't be popular anymore
Most of the scientists I know are still quit religious. One does not preclude the other
As for the popularity of science, it attains measurable truths, which is why I love parapsychology
And as for hellish consequeces, there are many religions which don't offer those either.
How about turning this question around? Why is Religion so popular and effective despite it having hellish consequences?
oh dear, the copy and paste monster has taken control of my mouse
Why is science so popular and effective? The second half of your question answers the query. It works. And anybody can demonstrate it.
The wonderful thing about science is that anybody can double-check the math. You can test the uncertainty principle of quantum mechnics (which in part, makes your computer work). You can double-check Einsteins math on the theory of relativity. You can visit the Galapogos Islands and see what Darwin saw. In fact, science is DEPENDENT on double-checking. No one in science will give you the time of day if your math or method don't check out.
No body can double-check faith.
Science is so popular because it allows men to live out Hellish fantasies here on Earth.
Nuclear weapons ... cool, blow people up and see them melt instantly!!!
Guns ... see people splatter.
Aids ... scientific experiment??? Some say yes.
If we stick man into a capsule rocket and project him to outer space will he die??? Oh, the adrenaline of it all.
Plus, science can't really be proved any greater than God can. Scientists are the greatest arguers. Theories move into fact and are challenged, and then disproved ... then the whole cycle continues. There are very few scientific certainties. Many scientists will conclude from numbers a fact, but this does not make it a certainly.
Science is very gruesome and men love to see torture ... they just disguise it under a distinguished name, "Science".
Science also has good too %26lt; vaccines %26gt;, but since it seems like you are asking for an argument about the innocence of science, I'll leave it at that.
Because we humans are arrogant enough to believe we are the be-all %26amp; end-all of the universe. So we try to control things and still end up getting closer the to God scientists try to disprove in the process.
Process.
