What kind of job could you expect with a major in plant science?

I like agriculture/botany but Google seems kinda of vague. In these times plant science doesn't seem 2 popular. Maybe something more industrial would be a better choice.What kind of job could you expect with a major in plant science?
Look at what Monsanto does: Genetic modification of crops, creation of new herbicides. Not that I would EVER want to work for Monsanto. How about research into organics, or into herbs as medicines. How about developing new varieties of crops the good old natural Mendelian way. How about heritage seed inventories and stock-piles. How about working for your state's cooperative extension. Then there's floral horticulture! Run a greenhouse! Remember, you can't eat stock certificates or paper money or even books. But we ALL NEED FOOD. Good Luck.
